Imagine closing your eyes while standing on a busy street corner. In that instant, you can easily perceive cars passing from left to right, footsteps approaching behind you, someone speaking to your right, and an airplane passing overhead. Human hearing naturally localizes sounds in full three-dimensional space.
The goal of 3D spatial audio technology is to recreate this rich acoustic sensation artificially over headphones or loudspeakers, making listeners perceive sound sources as originating from specific three-dimensional coordinates in space.
Applications of 3D Audio Technology
